Gary Rowley, CEO of UKG to retire

Following a career spanning 44 years, it is with immensely mixed feelings that we announce that Gary Rowley, Chief Executive Officer of UK Greetings, will retire on March 1, 2018.

Gary joined the Company in 1973 as a Trainee Cost Accountant. He quickly climbed the ranks, assuming more senior roles, including Display Planning Manager and Marketing Manager, before he discovered his true vocation within Sales.

Gary has led the UK business through significant transformations and growth. In 1991, he was appointed National Accounts Manager for Clintons, the largest card and gift store chain in the UK, where he was instrumental in developing the retailer to become UKG’s largest customer. Just two years later, Gary became Independent Sales Director. The Company expanded over the next several years, acquiring Camden Graphics, Hanson White and Gibson Greetings. By 2000, Gary had been promoted to Group Sales Director.

The UK business continued to prosper and in 2010, he was promoted to CEO, a position he truly embraced. The passion, commitment and sheer energy that he has given is a reflection of his love for the business and the people with whom he has had the pleasure of working.

Gary has devoted his career to UK Greetings and his achievements will long be remembered and celebrated. His decision to retire has been planned for some time and Gary has started to hand over some of his responsibilities to his team.

Gary is a much loved colleague and friend to many and it is with heartfelt sincerity that we thank him for his decades of service.

We wish Gary good health and happiness in his retirement.
