The Henries Awards 2018

The Henries recognise excellence in the greeting cards industry. Each year some 15,000 cards are entered with all entries being judged by an extensive panel comprising top retail buyers from right across the retail spectrum.

UK Greetings are delighted to announce we have reached the finals in four categories –

Poles Apart RSPCA Charity Collection for Best Christmas Box or Pack

New for 2018 Poles Apart is part of the premium Festive Keepsake Collection within the Special Editions. The designs have a stylish look and feel, completed with flitter finishes and keepsake packaging for added luxury. Commenting on this nomination Nikki Farrar, Product Development Director says “Special Editions pride ourselves on our relationship with our charity partners and we are so pleased to be able to showcase this RSPCA line with this nomination. We are really excited to be finalists and will be keeping our fingers crossed until the winner is announced!”

Peter Rabbit for Best Licensed Card Range

Sarah Johnson, Licensing Manager expresses her delight at reaching the licensed card finalists “We are over-the-moon that our new Peter Rabbit collection has been selected!! The endearing charm of Peter Rabbit has made it a delightful addition to the UKG Portfolio. Our creative teams have made a range that is filled with nostalgic charm using a beautiful soft colour palette with added finishes touches including bespoke Peter Rabbit envelope and label. It’s a range we are truly proud of.”

Symbols of Love for Best Traditional Words & Sentiments Range

Symbols of Love bring a fresh approach to the anniversary caption. These elegant designs are beautifully complemented by succinct yet heartfelt words and decorative attachments that reflect the meaning behind each anniversary milestone. Commenting on the range Frances Billington, Creative Director says “The use of sentiment in this range really shows just how powerful a few short words can be. We’re so excited to be recognised for a collection we’ve always been very enthusiastic about here at UKG!”

Best Service to the Independent Retailer

Darren Cave, Director of Field Sales comments, “It’s a remarkable achievement that we continue to be nominated year after year for the award of Best service to the Independent Retailer. This is a truly prestigious award and very much reflects the excellent levels of service we consistently deliver to our Independent customer base. Congratulations and thank you to all those involved in making this happen.”

As with every year it’s a fantastic achievement to be recognised at the premier awards for Greeting Card publishers, so well done to everyone involved in these much-deserved nominations.

The winners will be revealed at an Electric Dreams 80s’ themed Henries Awards on Thursday 4th October at The Royal Lancaster London Hotel.
